The beta key hunt is a competition introduced by ArenaNet to distribute beta keys for Guild Wars 2 to the elite players of Guild Wars 1.
During the duration of the competition, players will be able to obtain rare beta keys for Guild Wars 2 by killing monsters with their characters in Guild Wars. ArenaNet has not disclosed which monsters drop the rare loot. Preliminary research shows that the drop rate is very low.
Drop research[править]
The beta keys only seem to drop in hard mode. Following is the list of known monsters that drop beta keys:
- The Lost Souls making up the former crew of Lady Glaive in the Shards of Orr.
- Rift Wardens around the Tombs.
- All baby dragons spawning from carried eggs in Glint's lair.
Keys can also be obtained by trading in 5 Bricks of Mud to Vicci in the town of Kyhlo.
How to enter a beta key[править]
To sign up for the Guild Wars 2 beta, double click the key in your inventory. Afterwards, copy the string of characters appearing in the chat window and go to the page http://www.guildwars2.com/en/betakey.html and enter your beta key, e-mail address, Guild Wars 1 account name and IQ. You will be sent a link to download the Guild Wars 2 installer soon after.
