Walkthrough[править]

After the beginning discussion cutscene with Ikniu, enter the water and slowly approach the hylek procession group to have them begin their march. As noted by the NPC, you must clear several ambushes and obstacles from the path of the Hylek procession without getting too close to them. The distance at which you cause the NPCs to begin their movement is a guide to how close you can get to them safely.

Important: You must take care to not stray too close to the border of the personal story instance; doing so will eject you from the instance with little warning.

The first obstacle to clear from the procession path are Covington Pirates. Start with one of the flanking groups at the northeast or southwest. Each group can be pulled in 2's or 3's with ranged attacks. After you defeat a flanking group, an additional group of 3 pirates will run up and engage you. Clear the pirate group blocking the direct path of the Hylek, then the other flanking group and their eventual assist group, and the procession will proceed.

Next, approach the water's edge and defeat the swarm of 3 sharks in the water. Immediately after defeating those sharks, swim directly east, to where you would be immediately south of the "rch" of Merchantman's Straight on your map, and intercept the level 48 "boss" Shark. It is not a veteran, but it has more health than typical and 3 levels higher than your scaled instance level. NOTE: Attempting to bypass the hylek procession by going south of them in the water risks being ejected from the instance.

Your final ambush group is a swarm of undead. They will be standing on two grassy hills, and unmoving. Clear the northern hill first, then cross to the southern hill. The southern hill's mass of undead has a Plague Carrier, so make sure to kill it rapidly before it explodes and deals a considerable amount of damage to you and your assisting NPCs. After clearing both hills, a level 48 Abomination will appear. You can either intercept it and pull it away from the Hylek procession or pull it from on top of the hill you're on. The Abomination is not a veteran again, and has standard easy-to-dodge AoE stuns.

When that final encounter is completed, stand back and let the hylek procession approach the submersed cave to the east. When it's safe, speak with the Priestess to finish the story mission.

Talking to Ikniu. (cinematic)

Ikniu: You're just in time. The high priestess's entourage is about to leave. They're bringing supplies to her cloister, so they'll lead us right to her.
Ikniu: The hard part will be making sure they get there. The way is dangerous, full of pirates, predators, and the undead.
Ikniu: We need to scout ahead and clear the way for the entourage...but if we get too close, they'll spot us and stop the procession.
(When a member of the Durmand Priory)
Magister Sieran: So we have to keep them alive without making them nervous. A tall order, but nothing the Priory can't handle. Let's go.
(When a member of the Order of Whispers)
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: No problem. Staying unseen is out specialty. Let's saunter on over and meet with the holy hylek.
(When a member of the Vigil)
Warmaster Forgal: In my day, we'd just force them to take us to the high priestess at sword point. But times have changed, so we'll do it your way.

Talking to your allies after the cinematic:

When a member of the Order of Whispers:
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: Why don't they just—no, I'm glad they won't let us join the procession. We're Order of Whispers field agents. We're supposed to skulk and sneak and shadow our targets.
Talk end option tango.png
That's us. Let's keep moving.
Ikniu:The procession's route is beset by savage beasts and dangerous brigands. Many of the processions never arrive. We must make sure this one does.
Talk more option tango.png
Are you all right? Is the burdern of your brothers remains bearable?
This is not Sabiti. It is proof of the corruption that killed him. I will bear it until the high priestess sees it, and is convinced.
Talk more option tango.png
What will we face on the procession route?
Talk more option tango.png
How far will the procession travel?
Talk end option tango.png
All right. Let's get going.
Talk more option tango.png
What will we face on the procession route?
Predators of the sea and shore. Pirates, sharks and the Sunless themselves prowl the beaches and shallows. We must be ready for them.
Talk more option tango.png
Are you all right? Is the burden of your brothers remains bearable?
Talk more option tango.png
We are. How far does the procession travel?
Talk end option tango.png
Count on it.
Talk more option tango.png
How far will the procession travel?
A long way. The high priestess built her cloister in a sacred spot revealed to her in a vision. There, she meditates in the Sun God's light and receives the Sun God's wisdom.
Talk more option tango.png
Are you all right? Is the burden of your brothers remains bearable?
Talk more option tango.png
What will we face on the procession route?
Talk end option tango.png
I just hope she accepts our wisdom there, too. Let's get going.
Talk end option tango.png
We will.

Clearing the path to the High Priestess.

Ikniu: The entourage will leave soon. Don't let them see us. If we get too close, they'll stop.
Hylek Supplier: We are ready to begin the procession. Entourage! Proceed!
Ikniu: Pirates patrol this route. Let's clear them out before they ruin everything.
Covington Pirate: That's far enough, froggies. Hand over the goods or we'll hurt you real bad.
Hylek Supplier: Pirates! Don't be afraid, they're nothing but pond scum. Guards! To me!
Covington Pirate: Hop on back to your swamp, frog-face. Leave all that heavy merchandise to us.
Hylek Supplier: Don't waver, my friends. Even the beasts of the deep cannot stop our holy mission.
Ikniu: These are shark-infested waters. We need to clear the path ahead of the procession.'
Ikniu: Undead? Here? Quickly, kill them before they interfere with the procession.
Hylek Supplier: Undead? This close to the holy grounds? Blasphemy!
Hylek Supplier: It wasn't easy, but we've brought the supplies the high priestess requested.
Nahualli: Very good. She's been expecting you. Come in.
High Priestess Ecolotl: How did these outsiders gain access to our holy grounds?
Nahualli: Ikniu? What are you doing here? And by the Sun, is that Sabiti?
Nahualli: Look...the champion's head. And it's completely corrupted.

Talking to your mentor before the cinematic:

Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: One step closer to mission complete. Judging from the awkwardness between the high priestess and Ikniu, I'd say it's time for you to step in.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm on my way.

Talking to the Hylek Supplier:

Hylek Supplier: We would not have made it without your help. Your presence here is surely a sign of divine intervention. Praise the Sun God!
Talk more option tango.png
The Sun God may have sent us, but we're the ones who saved you.
All goodness and light flows from the Sun God. You helped us only because the Sun God allowed you to.
Ferocity
And I'm the Sun God's new favorite. Step aside."
You may pass, but do not speak to the high priestess that way. She deserves your respect and awe.
Talk end option tango.png
Awe. Got it. Now step aside.
Charisma
Her profound spirituality is why we must speak to her right away.
Very well. You may pass, but maintain the proper reverence or we'll poison you and smash your heads in.
Talk end option tango.png
It won't come to that, I promise.
Talk end option tango.png
All right. I'll check back with you later.
Talk end option tango.png
Uh...sure. Praising the Sun God, that's me.

Talking to the High Priestess Ecolotl. (cinematic)

High Priestess Ecolotl: I don't know how you got in here, but you cannot stay. This is a holy place. Leave, before I have you riddled with poison darts.
Mentor: Not until we've had our say. Those you sacrifice to the sunless ones become sunless themselves.
Ikniu: You've seen our proof. Your guards will tell you that this undead thing was once Champion Sabiti's head. You cannot deny it any longer.
Ikniu: Tell the chief to stop the tournament. We must not send any more champions to join the ranks of the sunless.
High Priestess Ecolotl: But...may the Sun forgive me, it's too late. The tournament began when my entourage left the village. It's already over by now.
You: Then we need to move quickly. The undead are massing for attack, and they won't wait forever. Gather your forces and meet us back at the village.

After the cinematic:

When a member of the Durmand Priory:
Magister Sieran: I look at these creatures, and I think of my home in the Grove. What would I be willing to do if something threatened it?
When a member of the Order of Whispers:
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: Look at 'em, sticking by each other no matter what. I wish...I mean, my old warband...ah, never mind.
When a member of the Vigil:
Warmaster Forgal: Those creatures are certainly stubborn. Dedicated, I mean. I may not like 'em, but I can admire that.

Talking to your allies after the cinematic:

High Priestess Ecolotl: Thank you for forcing me to see the truth. All those brave champions... Although I immerse myself in the Sun God's light, I have been blinded by pride and tradition
Talk more option tango.png
Why did you send your champions into harm's way in the first place?
The Sunless were invading our land. We played for guidance, and the Sun God sent me a vision of a champion, imbued with the power to defend our grounds. We set out to choose that champion.
Ferocity
I'm your champion now. And I say we must fight—all of us. (Brute)
Yes, I see that now. You are not one of the Sun God's children, but I believe you are the Sun God's agent. I will help you defend my people.
Talk end option tango.png
Very well. Thank you, High Priestess.
Talk end option tango.png
I see. Thank you.

Talk end option tango.png
It's not too late. Together, we can save your people.

When a member of the Order of Whispers:
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: That's that, then. One high priestess, convinced. I was starting to think they'd never listen to reason.
Charisma
Reason, and a corrupted head on a stick. That usually settles any dispute.
True. Although I believe the traditional use of that rhetorical device is as a disincentive. "Agree with me or this will happen to you."
Talk end option tango.png
Be proud. Ours was a much subtler and more nuanced argument.
Dignity
We had the truth on our side. It was only a matter of time.
Time and access. We got access, now we need time. The undead—sorry, the Sunless will be massing to attack the village as we speak.
Talk end option tango.png
We'll be ready for them.
Ferocity
I was ready to knock that high priestess down and make her listen.
That's not very Order of Whispers...well, unless you did it quietly and nobody say. Wait, what am I saying? Our mission is to protect these hylek, not tackle them.
Talk end option tango.png
And now we can complete that mission. Let's move.
Talk end option tango.png
Thankfully, we did. Let's hope there's still time.

My Story[править]

Файл:Convincing the Faithful.jpg

We followed High Priestess Ecolotl's procession to Lorantl Grounds and confronted her with our proof of the undead corruption. She was convinced, but we soon realized that sooner or later, the undead will come to overwhelm the village. We decided to return and help the village prepare to defend itself.
