Frye Fireburn was the leader of the elite charr warband known as the Fireshadows. He and his warband were assigned with the task to assassinate King Adelbern but instead met Savione who warned the charr of the king's madness. In Frye's attempt to warn the Flame Legion's imperator, the Fireshadows were punished for their failure by being tied to posts on the Viewing Hill, a hill just outside Ascalon City which can see well into the city. From there, Frye and his warband witnessed the Foefire and lived to tell the other charr what happened.
It is said that after the Foefire, Frye and the rest of the Fireshadows' fur was turned white due to the horror they saw.
