[[Shadow of the Mad King]] is a Halloween-themed [[release]] and was the first major update for [[Guild Wars 2]] that went live on [[Game updates/2012-10-22|22 October 2012]].

This game content was updated and re-released on October 23, 2015 for Halloween alongside the [[Heart of Thorns]] expansion, with the [[Game_updates/2015-10-23#Halloween:_Shadow_of_the_Mad_King|following updates]].
