Warband

warband (отряд), это один из наиболее важных аспектов культуры чарр. Отрядом руководит легионер. Во время обучения и воспитания в яслях своего легиона, каждый молодой чарр должен стать членом отряда, как правило принимая второе имя (фамилию), указывающую на членство в отряде. Например, они могут выбрать имя Fierceclaw (Яростный Коготь), если состоят в отряде, где все члены ассоциируют себя со словом Fierce (Ярость). Название отряда также может являться окончанием фамилии, так член отряда Strike (удар) может называться Swordstrike (Удар Меча). Название отряда избирается, когда он готов покинуть ясли. Название отряда не обязательно должно быть уникальным. Может быть и два отряда с одинаковым названием, что приводит к дружеской конкуренции между ними.

В отряд обычно входит от пяти до пятнадцати чарр, но их число может возрасти до двадцати. Когда отряд становится слишком большим, легионер обычно разбивает его на два отдельных отряда. Несколько отрядов организуются в компанию, во главе которой стоит центурион.

Как правило, чарр не покидают свой отряд, чтобы присоединиться к другому, но так тоже случается. Это может произойти при потере отряда, когда чарр становится гладием, и может присоединиться к другому отряду. Решение о переводе также может принять легионер, если видит, что чарру будет лучше в другом отряде. Когда чарр меняет отряд, ему важно хорошо сработаться с новыми соратниками, чтобы выжить.

Лояльность чарр варьируется от одного, к другому. Обычно лояльность чарр в первую очередь принадлежит своему отряду, и только потом легиону, хоть и ожидается что интересам легиона они будут служить в первую очередь. Однако на деле так ведут себя только те чарр, которые строго соблюдают правила. Именно они ставят интересы легиона превыше интересов своего отряда. Таким образом, если легионер нарушает приказ, остальной отряд может последовать за ним из солидарности.

Четыре Высоких легиона были названы в честь своих основных отрядов (пепла, крови, огня и железа), однако ни один из нынешних лидеров не носит фамилию, связанную с названием легиона.

• Barb warband (Колючий отряд): отряд Железного легиона с неизвестным статусом. • Fume warband: An Ash Legion warband of unknown status, Volara Fumecaster, one of the warbands members, trains Elementalists at the Black Citadel. Volara is usually found stationed at the Perimeter Loop.
• Fuse warband: An Iron Legion warband. A member of the warband, Vesta Fuseheart, is an Iron Legion mechanic stationed at the War Wagon Prep Deck in the Black Citadel.
• Hate warband: A Blood Legion warband assigned to the Blazeridge Steppes. Gylarr Hatebelly is currently stationed as a scout on the outskirts of The Brand and Nyx Hateflash is assigned away from her warband as the pilot of a Charr war machine, an assignment she is quite disgruntled about.
• Heart warband: A warband, likely Blood Legion, that's status is currently unknown. One of its members, Drill Instructor Hearteater, Is currently stationed at the Black Citadel, training Iron Legion soldiers on the mustering grounds.
• Jaw warband: An Iron Legion warband. One of its members (Yul Steeljaw) is stationed in the black citadel, at the War Wagon Prep Deck, minding a large Charr war machine of his construction
• Kalla's Killers: Ash Legion Operations Group 98, an all-female Ash Legion warband named after Kalla Scorchrazor, also referred to as Scorch warband. They are combating the Flame Legion in northwestern Iron Marches, led by Legionnaire Vesta Scorchpath.
• Keen warband: Iron Legion warband stationed at Steeleye Span together with the Steel warband.
• Killer warband: A warband of currently unknown legion and status. Vitrix Skrittkiller, a distrustful veteran Charr and member of the Killer warband, is currently stationed at the Praetor's Canton in the Black Citadel.
• Light warband: An Iron Legion warband. One of its members, Elexia Lightalloy, is stationed in the Black Citadel, developing a lighter but stronger metal to replace the current metal used on the tanks. Due to the nature of her research she is usually found at the Black Citadel's War Wagon Prep Deck.
• Mane warband: Vallus Smokemane's warband, the player character's sire if "Honorless gladium" is chosen during the biography.
• Mist warband: A warband, likely Ash Legion, of unknown status. Caliga Mistwalker, one of the warbands members, trains Thieves at the Black Citadel. Caliga is usually found stationed at the Perimeter Loop.
• Mine warband: A warband, likely Iron Legion of unknown status. Tabun Mineweave, a member of the warband and a merchant, Is currently found at Dragonwatch, on the outskirts of the Brand. It is possible that the warband mines materials and forges them into the weapons that Tabun sells.
• Night warband: Iron legion warband stationed at Bloodsaw Mill that starts the event chain Capture Incendio Templum.
• Razer warband: A warband of currently unknown legion and status. Marus Razeraxe, a member of the warband, is currently trying to defend a Charr accused of being a Flame Legion spy. Marus is usually around the Perimeter Loop, near the entrance to the Imperator's Core.
• Revenant warband: A warband, likely Iron Legion, of currently unknown status. Beala Revenantplague, a member of the warband and veteran Charr is stationed at the Praetor's Canton, in the Black Citadel.
• Ruin warband: The warband of Bangar Ruinbringer, the Imperator the Blood Legion, Bangar currently leads his legion from the Blood Legion Homelands in north-eastern Tyria. Pryde Ruintaker, one of the warbands members, trains warriors at the Black Citadel. Pryde is usually found stationed at the Perimeter Loop.
• Saw warband: Blood Legion warband running the Bloodsaw Mill.
• Seeker warband: An Iron Legion warband last reported fighting ghosts near the ascalon city ruins. Fural Rageseeker, one of the warbands members, was sent to the Black Citadel, to report to Blood Legion Tribune Rytlock Brimstone on the state of the conflicts with the ghosts at the Great Northern Wall. Fural has been assigned to the Black Citadel at the Praetor's Canton until his warband rotates back to the Citadel. (Usually warbands of the Iron legion [such as the Seeker warband] report to the Iron Legion Officials. It is likely that in this case, Fural was reporting to Rytlock becuase he may oversee the conflicts with the ghosts around Ascalon City and The Great Northern Wall.)
• Shadow warband: An Ash Legion warband currently on leave at the Heroes Canton. A more tactically inclined group that deals with stealth operations, They have nine members total, keeping their warband smaller as to stay more mobile than others, and they usually split into groups of three when carrying out missions. Maul Shadowharm, one of the warbands members, usually explores the Black Citadel while he and his comrades are on leave.
• Shatter warband: Warband stationed in Brokentooth Maw, in Terra Combusta, on the edge of the Dragonbrand. Starts the event chain Defend Brokentooth Maw.
• Strike warband: A warband of unknown Legion consisting of fourteen Charr. The group's name was originally possessed by another warband that was slain by Flame Legion. The name was taken up by the new warband to honour the fallen. The unit is currently stationed at the Black Citadel, awaiting orders from their Tribune. One of the Members of the warband, Castella Swordstrike, disgruntled about the warband's leader, is thinking of challenging the Charr in question, Legionnaire Faststrike, for leadership.
• Star warband: The warband (likely Iron Legion) of Harran Ashstar, who is a racer in the Circus Charricus and is currently stationed in the Black Citadel. When not racing Harran is found amongst the vehicles used in the races, parked on the War Wagon Prep Deck. It is likely this warband creates, works on, and (in Harran's case) pilots the vehicle they use in the Circus Charricus.
• Stone warband: Famed warband led by Rytlock Brimstone.
• Steel warband: Large Iron Legion warband stationed at Steeleye Span in Blazeridge Steppes. The warband consists of Tribune Kyranith Steelgrip, Legionnaire Caym Steelheart, Head engineer Grotall Steelspear, Nadax Steelclaw, Drim Steelbow and Dieste Steeldream. Kyranith Steelgrip, one of the six current Iron Legion tribunes, is the leader of this warband. Dieste Steeldream is stationed north of her warband at Dragonwatch, She appears to have been sent there to mine for metals to be used at Steeleye Span.
• Strike warband: Warband of Castella Swordstrike, named after a previous Strike warband that was massacred by the Flame Legion.
• Spar warband: The Iron Legion warband of "Ref" Sparkeeper, A Charr stationed at Dragonwatch, on the edge of the Brand.
• Swept warband: An Iron Legion Warband of unknown status. Olla Sweptpurse, one of the warbands members and a merchant, is currently stationed at the Dragonwatch base, on the outskirts of the Brand.
• Quick warband: Warband helping out at Meatoberfest in the Village of Butcher's Block. One of its members initiates the dynamic event Help Karris Quickcalm hunt for wurm eggs inside Wurm's Gullet.

Original primus warbands

• Ash warband: The primus warband the Ash Legion is named after.
• Blood warband: The primus warband the Blood Legion is named after.
• Flame warband: The primus warband the Flame Legion is named after.
• Iron warband: The primus warband the Iron Legion is named after.

Historical warbands

• Fierce warband: Warband of Pyre Fierceshot who began the revolution to overthrow the Flame Legion.
• Fireshadows: Elite Flame Legion warband led by Frye Fireburn. Its members were assigned to assassinate King Adelbern, but after retreating to warn their imperator about the king's madness they were tied to posts on the Viewing Hill as punishment for their failure. From that spot, they witnessed the Foefire and lived to tell the tale.
• Grim warband: One of two warbands assigned to sail the Brutality, an Ash Legion naval vessel (circa 1237 AE). It was the leading Ash Legion warband on board the ship.
• Pick warband: Former warband of Rox, now deceased.
• Shroud warband: One of two warbands assigned to sail the Havoc, an experimental Iron Legion naval vessel (circa 1219 AE). Centurion Harrow Shroudweather was the captain and commanding officer of the ship.
• Soul warband: Former warband led by General Almorra Soulkeeper. Turned into branded and subsequently killed during the awakening of Kralkatorrik.
• Steam Warband: One of two warbands assigned to sail the Havoc, an experimental Iron Legion naval vessel (circa 1219 AE). Engineer Sykox Steamshroud, who would later become Cobiah Marriner's first mate, was a member of this warband.
• Zeal warband: One of two warbands assigned to sail the Brutality, an Ash Legion naval vessel (circa 1237 AE). It was the secondary warband on board the ship, composed of Blood Legion members.
• Crimson warband: A warband, likely part of the Blood Legion, that became renowned for killing a hundred ghosts in martyr's woods for six days before falling. their name was inherited by a new warband in honour of them.
