Dialogue[править]
At the start of the scavenger hunt:
"Welcome, citizen. Are you here to contribute to the relief effort? Or maybe to be deputized for the investigation? There's no shortage of ways to help."
- "There are three major efforts. Any one of them could use your help. Researcher Levvi is looking into the karka creatures themselves. The Lionguard is collecting donations to rebuild the city."
- "Yes, I'm looking into who or what prompted the karka attacks. Lion's Arch response is three-pronged: research, relief, or responsibility."
- "Outstanding. I need to stay here for the time being, but you should head down to the beach. A lot of wreckage washed up right before the karka attack, and it bears closer inspection."
- "It's scattered along the western beaches of Lion's Arch, from the Diverse Ledges to the Moran Memorial. Keep a sharp eye."
- Any advice about how to investigate?
- Thanks.
Where can I find the wreckage?
- "It's scattered along the western beaches of Lion's Arch, from the Diverse Ledges to the Moran Memorial. Keep a sharp eye."
- "Start with the fragments. Try to imagine how they fit together. If you get stuck, look for something to help you out."
- Where can I find the wreckage?
- Thanks.
Any advice about how to investigate?
- "Start with the fragments. Try to imagine how they fit together. If you get stuck, look for something to help you out."
- I'm on it.
Count me in for the investigation.
- "Outstanding. I need to stay here for the time being, but you should head down to the beach. A lot of wreckage washed up right before the karka attack, and it bears closer inspection."
- Can you review the choices for me again?
- I want to help, but I can't right now.
You mentioned a third option?
- "Yes, I'm looking into who or what prompted the karka attacks. Lion's Arch response is three-pronged: research, relief, or responsibility."
- I have to go now, but I'll be back.
What can I do?
- "There are three major efforts. Any one of them could use your help. Researcher Levvi is looking into the karka creatures themselves. The Lionguard is collecting donations to rebuild the city."
- (See "third option" above)
I received a letter about an investigation.
-
- I'm interested, but I'm not ready yet.
- After beginning the investigation
"Glad to see you. Any luck sifting through the wreckage?"
- "That's the Consortium's mark, all right. And from the look of it, that bag has been in the water for at least a week. Which means this whole mess started earlier than we thought."
- "We talk to the Consortium. Or at least, their representative in town. We need someone in the know that we can lean on."
- (Dialogue switches to Head Researcher Levvi)
- "I know just the weasel. His name's Blingg, and you'll find him near Fort Marriner. He's got no spine, no brains, and no guts, so he'll roll right over. Just don't tell him I sent you."
- "He's my ex. We were young, on the same krewe, we got involved...but he was a cheat, both in terms of plagiarism and infidelity. It ended badly...for his face. My fist fared much better."
- (Dialogue switches to Inspector Ellen Kiel)
- "That sounds solid to me. Track down Blingg near Fort Marriner and let me know what you find out."
- Will do.
All right, then. I'll talk to Blingg.
- I need a moment to think this over.
Why not?
- "He's my ex. We were young, on the same krewe, we got involved...but he was a cheat, both in terms of plagiarism and infidelity. It ended badly...for his face. My fist fared much better."
- Need text here.
Not to worry. I'll brace this Blingg without invoking your name.
- Hold on. I'll be back in a moment.
Anyone in mind?
- Give me a moment to consider things.
What's next?
- "We talk to the Consortium. Or at least, their representative in town. We need someone in the know that we can lean on."
- I need a moment, but I'll be back.
(After retrieving the bag)I saw lots of Consortium logos. Like the one on this bag.
- "That's the Consortium's mark, all right. And from the look of it, that bag has been in the water for at least a week. Which means this whole mess started earlier than we thought."
- Nothing yet. I'll let you know when I have something.
- After agreeing to check on Blingg
"Any progress to report?"
- "All right. If you're looking for Blingg, try the hills west of Fort Marriner. Good luck."
- Got it. I'll let you know when I have something.
Not yet.
- "All right. If you're looking for Blingg, try the hills west of Fort Marriner. Good luck."
- "Amazing. I've seen Canach around. If he roused the karka, and the Consortium's covering it up...we have a conspiracy on our hands. And for once, it doesn't involve the Ship's Council."
- "I'll have Canach picked up. And here, take this. Lion's Arch is all about fair exchanges, and you've earned it. I'd like to keep you around to help us see this through. Interested?"
- Count me in. I'll be ready when you need me.
What happens now?
- "I'll have Canach picked up. And here, take this. Lion's Arch is all about fair exchanges, and you've earned it. I'd like to keep you around to help us see this through. Interested?"
- I'll be back in a second.
(After defeating Canach) The Consortium's involved. So is a Sylvari named Canach. Look at this.
- "Amazing. I've seen Canach around. If he roused the karka, and the Consortium's covering it up...we have a conspiracy on our hands. And for once, it doesn't involve the Ship's Council."
- I'm working on it. I'll let you know when I have something.
Quotes[править]
- At the end of the Lion's Arch invasion at the beginning of Phase 2, at the now-built trebuchet.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Take aim…and fire!
- *Trebuchet fires the solvent at the Ancient Karka, which is right near the trebuchet. It gets covered in the solvent, turns, and runs away.*
- Magnus the Bloody-Handed: Bear's fuzzy backside, it worked! Turned that beastie's shell into mush right before our eyes.
- Head Researcher Levvi: Don't sound so surprised. With proper research and planning, results like this come naturally.
- Magnus the Bloody-Handed: I'm not surprised, you bitter little pill, I'm elated. The karka's gone, scuttled off to who knows where, and now we know how to fight it.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Actually, sir, I think I know exactly where it went. Canach! Get over here and start sharing.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: This sylvari has information on how this karka mess began. Start talking, Canach.
- Canach: Very well. Weeks ago, I sent an expedition to an unknown island to the south. They were to ready an asura gate as part of the Consortium's development plans.
- Canach: My team never returned. The gate remains inactive, and wreckage from their ship started washing up not long before the karka attacks began.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: We think whatever Canach's crew did on that island provoked the karka. They struck back at the nearest possible target: us.
- Magnus the Bloody-Handed: You lost a ship and its entire crew weeks ago? And you're just telling us about it now? Your little secret put the entire city at risk.
- Subdirector Noll: If I may, Captain: Canach works for the Consortium, not the city. He is contractually bound by our most comprehensive nondisclosure agreement.
- Subdirector Noll: The Consortium has to protect its investments at every stage of development. It's a matter of commerce, I'm sure you understand.
- Magnus the Bloody-Handed: This intrigue can wait. What I want now is a detail sent after that karka. Track it back to its lair and kill it while it's licking its wounds.
- Subdirector Noll: That island is private property. I cannot sign off on any military endeavor unless it includes a Consortium representative.
- Head Researcher Levvi: You'll need me and my krewe, too. Nobody knows more about the karka than we do.
- Magnus the Bloody-Handed: Kiel! As long as you kill that thing and prevent any future attacks, you can bring along as many of these idiots as you like. We'll sort out blame and punishment later.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Understood. Lionguard! Squad formation. Board the ships and get ready to fight. This time, we're on the offensive.
- During Southsun Cove invasion in Phase 2, at Kiel's Outpost Waypoint.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Good work, team! But we're just getting started.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: We're going to need trails blazed across this island for our troops and supply trains.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Deputy, get our base of operations up and running. Move!
- *Base is built by workers*
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: The beach is ours. Now we need to dig in and work out our next move.
- Advisor Okk: I'd like to reiterate that the Lionguard has no ownership claim, and therefore no authority, on this beach or the greater island.
- Deputy Foedaunt: Shut your face, flunky. Lion's Arch is in danger, and we're the Lionguard. That's all the authority we need.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: He's right, until this urgent threat has been dealt with, this is a Lionguard operation.
- Advisor Okk: That is acceptable...to a point. The Consortium is of course grateful for your assistance during this...unique situation.
- Deputy Foedaunt: Okay, we're all set here. What's the plan?
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: We need to know the lay of the land before we push further in.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Listen up! I need two scouting parties to form up and head out now.
- During trailblazing towards main island
- Advisor Okk: Our intelligence shows that the lost expedition most likely set up camp to the south. I need to inspect that site.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: We're here for the karka, sir, not camps. You can inspect all you like after the threat has been neutralized.
- Advisor Okk: You have your priorities, Inspector, and I have mine. I'm visiting that camp. Good luck with your mission.
- Deputy Foedaunt: Same to you, idiot. Good luck being eaten alive. That'll really protect your precious investment.
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: Let him go, Deputy. If he wants to explore without Lionguard protection, that's his business. We've got work to do. Team! Move out!
- While defending the workers building the bridge
- Inspector Ellen Kiel: We're making progress. Don't let up!
Notes[править]
- There are 2 Ellen Kiels. One stands with Head Researcher Levvi and the other follows Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed. This was intentionally done to allow the scavenger hunt from Phase 1 to be completed during Phase 2.
