Mai Trin is captain of the Aetherblades. She was first seen offering her help as a healer during the attack on the Ship's Council to help revive the charr representative, but was unsuccessful. After some investigation by players, she was revealed to be the mastermind behind the attack, hoping to use the resulting death of Theo Ashford to win a spot on the Ship's Council.

With the help of Inspector Ellen Kiel, players found the main Aetherblade base and confronted Mai Trin with First Mate Horrik. Mai Trin was captured and placed in a cell in Fort Marriner, refusing to give out much information other than her leader will not be pleased. It was later revealed that the superior she mentioned was Scarlet Briar, who may have also brought about the Molten Alliance
