Generic Materials[править]

Crafting materials are often generic in one of two ways:

  • Generic across difficulties.
  • Generic within a difficulty.

Generic Across Difficulties[править]

Items come in discrete types of material, where the same type is used in repeated recipies, but the actual crafting material changes from recipe to recipe. An example of a generic type is Ingot, where the base properties remain the same, and all that changes for the item is the metal and the difficulty. 2 Copper ore -> 1 Copper Ingot with difficulty 0. 2 Silver ore -> 1 Silver ingot with difficulty 75, and so on up through the tiers,

Generic Within a Difficulty[править]

Many recipes within a level are repeated with a single item changing from recipe to recipe, the single item working to activate different properties in the final item. Examples of such items include Dust, Bone, Venom Sacks, and Vials of Blood. These items can be expressed as generic by referring to them as 'Activator'.

Generics in Recipes[править]

Crafting Recipes at top level pages (Jeweler, Bag, Ingot, etc) should be referred to in generic terms, even if the page lists the detailed recipes. By using Generic Materials, the crafting recipes can be expressed in a single generic form, without overloading the reader with tons of over specific recipes. For example:

1 Foot Armor = 1 Footware Upper + 2 Footware Soles + 1 Activator
1 Ingot = 2 Ore
1 Band = 2 Ingot

When expressing generic recipes, try to keep the recipe on a single line, and Keep the resulting component on the left, with ingredients to the right.


Generic Materials Pages[править]

The main goal on Generic Materials Pages is to express crafting components in generic terms. A generics materials page will need to outline what the generic type represents. If the generic type can be crafted, it should list the generic recipe that it can be crafted with, and then list the detailed recipes. When a recipe is generic across both difficulties and contains Activators, it is acceptable to leave the Activators generic, and allow users to find the detailed recipes on the detailed crafting product pages. Again, the main goal is to express the material in generic terms.

Boilerplate Generic Material[править]

 Gizmos are a refined component required for crafting.  They come in two generic types:
* Plain Gizmos are refined from [[Widgets]].
* Fancy Gizmos are refined from widgets, with a [[item]] added.

Generic Activator Pages[править]

Since generic activators are a kind of universal key, used in a variety of recipes with no common recipe type, they do not get recipes listed here. The page serves only as a focus for finding the respective levels/tiers/grades/??? of a given component.

Discipline Page[править]

The discipline page is the top page for the discipline. As with the top page for Professions, it is to be a broad summary of what the Discipline is and does, but does not go into long lists of skills or recipes. It should contain either very generic recipes, or none at all. It is perfectly appropriate for the discipline page to link to other pages that have recipe lists. The Discipline page shall include:

  • A broad description of what the discipline does.
  • Links to the Crafting master in each of the 5 starter cities - Someone new to the game can gain a bit of an idea how these disciplines work by seeing what the masters sell.
  • Links to lists of detailed recipes.
