One of the best parts about an expansion release is getting to use a new weapon and weapon skills from elite specializations. Up until now, you could only equip each elite specialization’s weapon by locking yourself into that elite specialization’s trait line. But what if you could charge into the fray as a hammer-wielding holosmith or control the battlefield as a firebrand with a longbow?

Official site

Weaponmaster Training[1] is a system that focuses on new ways of augmenting the combat options for each profession by unlocking for use their elite specialization weapons without having the corresponding elite specialization equipped or trained.

Weaponmaster Training requires that players own the Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure expansion.[1] After unlocking it, players are able to use weapon skills of weapons previously associated with elite specializations, even if they do not own the other related expansions.[1][2]

Unlocking

The player will receive a letter in the mail from Frode early on in the third chapter of Secrets of the Obscure (Mother of Stars). Speak with Frode in the Beacon of Ages Command Center to unlock Weaponmaster Training account-wide.
