The Silverwastes is an explorable zone in the Maguuma Wastes. This area marks the first advance of the Pact toward the Elder Dragon Mordremoth and its army of mordrem. One of its lieutenants, the Mordrem Vinewrath, is trying to take control of the Silverwastes for its master.

The Silverwastes also boasts a large network of underground caverns, which are mostly inhabited by skritt, who are lending their tunnels to the Pact forces to allow them to travel faster around the area. From time to time, they will close due to the presence of bandits who fled Fort Vandal looking for a new place to set up camp.

There was a tribe of Maguuma centaurs located in the Far Silverwastes nearly twenty years prior to Mordremoth's awakening. However, they were wiped out by Caithe, Faolain and individuals who would form the Nightmare Court while they were looking for Wynne.

Getting there

• From Brisban Wildlands - Go northwest from the Fort Vandal point of interest in Vandal's Claim. The portal is in the northern part of the fort.
• From Verdant Brink - Going east from Shipwreck Peak Waypoint.

• Completing dynamic events while in this zone grants a stacking effect,  Perseverance.

Аномалии:

• Rich Mithril Veins operate differently than in other areas. Here, you can farm one normally (to 8 strikes plus bonuses). However, the next and all following veins produce only 2 strikes. There may be a timer on this effect.
• There may be a limit to the number of Orichalcum nodes and Ancient Saplings you can farm. If you take note of a node, intending to come back and harvest it later, it may disappear. This seems to be caused by harvesting another node of the same type elsewhere in the zone. So, you still get your orichalcum ore and/or ancient logs, just from a different location.

Trivia

• This zone was introduced in parts during the releases Echoes of the Past, Tangled Paths, Seeds of Truth and Point of No Return.
• The Silverwastes covers roughly the same area as Silverwood, a map zone in Guild Wars in the Maguuma Jungle. Like other areas in the Maguuma Wastes, it has undergone substantial changes in the 250 years between the two games: Silverwood was a lush jungle populated by centaurs, instead of the arid desert the zone is today.
• The colors of the four fortresses match the first four available colors of commander tags.
