Walkthrough[править]

After meeting up with your Quaggan contact, a "Mysterious Figure" appears, and you must chase them. You get Swiftness while doing this. Upon catching up with the "Mysterious Figure", it turns out to be a Quaggan that has been corrupted by Jormag, and it has led you straight into a trap full of other corrupted creatures. Be warned - about halfway through the fight, another wave will come from behind, effectively surrounding you. Defeat them all to end the mission.

Dialogues[править]

Speaking to your mentor:

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) Look alive. I don't know which of these floating blubber bags is in charge, but they sent for us, so we should be expected.
Talk end option tango.png
Standing by.
Magister Sieran: (Priory) I can't wait to talk to these quaggans! Their voices are so smooth and melodic, and they're all so polite. Plus they've seen things in the depths no one else has seen.
Talk end option tango.png
Agreed. Let's find their leader.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) We're going to save these quaggan, but we should also teach them how to swear properly. "Foo this" and "boo on that" just don't cut it on my team.
Talk end option tango.png
We will work on their vocabulary after we save the village.

Approaching Eager-Looking Quaggan

Eager-Looking Quaggan: Hoo, brave adventurers! Quaggan must speak with you!

Talking to Eager-Looking Quaggan

Eager-Looking Quaggan: Hoo! Are you from the <character's order>? Varonos Narrijoo said you would be coming to quaggans' village.
Talk quest option tango.png
The Priory is here and at your service. How can we help? (if Priory)
Talk quest option tango.png
We are, and we have. What is the situation? (if Vigil)
Talk quest option tango.png
We're the ones you called, yes. What's the problem? (if Order of whispers)
Eager-Looking Quaggan: Quaggans' gatherers keep going missing! They go out to collect food and supplies, but they never come back. Falooaloo Village needs provisions now more than ever.
Talk quest option tango.png
Why?
Eager-Looking Quaggan: Foo! Quaggan knows, but Varonos Narrijoo said not to tell, to bring you to her as soon as you arrived. Follow quaggan, and quaggan will take to you the village for answers.
Talk quest option tango.png
All right. Lead on.

Approaching Varonos Narrijoo

Varonos Narrijoo: Hoooo. How are the eggs doing?
Anxious Quaggan Mother: Quaggan's not sure. The water is getting colder. It makes incubation tricky.
Varonos Narrijoo: Boo. Well, quaggan is glad you are here to nurture them. Keep quaggan informed.

Talking to Varonos Narrijoo (cinematic)

Varonos Narrijoo: Thank you, Shashoo. Quaggan is Varonos Narrijoo, leader of this pod. And you are?
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) We are. We've been briefed, but we should hear the details from you. Quick as you can, please. We're in a rush.
Magister Sieran: (Priory) Sieran, Priory explorer, at your service. Thank you for allowing us to help. Tell us about your problem, and we'll do our best to solve it.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) We're the ones who came to help. Tell us about the problem in your own words, Varanos...
[sic]
which I bet will include lots of "oooo" sounds.
Varonos Narrijoo: Quaggans need food, or this clutch of eggs won't survive. But anyone who goes to forage in the gathering grounds never comes back. Foooo!
<Character name>: We'll investigate for you, starting with the path your gatherers took. That's where we'll pick up their trail.
Varonos Narrijoo: Coo! Quaggan agrees. If you meet Shashoo on the shore, she'll show you to the mountains where the gatherers disappeared.

Speaking to your mentor

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) This is the perfect opportunity: we get to protect the innocent and recruit new allies against the dragons. Let's move out and find those missing gatherers.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm ready.
Magister Sieran: (Priory) Narrijoo tells a pretty sad story, eh? But we can give it a happy ending. Let's get out there and find those missing gatherers.
Talk end option tango.png
Right behind you.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) This is what we came here for: to save this village and recruit some of them to join the fight against the dragons. Let's get out to those hunting grounds and see what's what.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm ready.

Talking to Varonos Narrijoo

Varonos Narrijoo: Thanks again. Quaggan cannot leave Falooaloo during this critical time, but Shashoo is standing by to assist you.
Talk more option tango.png
How did a village full of northern quaggans get this far south?
Varonos Narrijoo: Oah! Quaggans were driven south by awful things: krait, bad ice, dragon minions. Quaggans need food and shelter, but quaggans do not like to fight. So quaggans moved.
Talk more option tango.png
Tell me about Falooaloo.
Varonos Narrijoo: Falooaloo was to be quaggans' permanent home. Quaggans came south, picking up more quaggans from other tribes along the way. Then bad ice came, gatherers started disappearing, and... foo!
Talk more option tango.png
How many villagers have you lost?
Varonos Narrijoo: TooOOoo many! Quaggans barely have enough gatherers left to send out forage parties, much less collect enough food to feed quaggans.
Talk more option tango.png
How long have you been varanos?
Varonos Narrijoo: Many years. Quaggan led quaggan's people in the north, then led quaggans south to here. It has been hard, but quaggan is proud to have kept so many alive this long.
Talk end option tango.png
We'll get started right away.

Talking to Shashoo

Shashoo: Coo! Quaggan is so pleased you are willing to help. If you have any questions before you start, quaggan will try to answer them.
Talk more option tango.png
Tell me about the gathering grounds.
Shashoo: The water is very cold here—and getting colder. Quaggans gather on land because land is more reliable. More food and more supplies for quaggans. And no sharks. Foo on sharks!
Talk more option tango.png
What about you? What's your story?
Shashoo: Quaggan wants to help quaggan's village. Some of those eggs are quaggan's nieces and nephews, and a new varanos must be ready to lead them. Someday, quaggan will be that leader.
Talk more option tango.png
Tell me about the gathering grounds.
Talk end option tango.png
That's all I needed to know.
Talk end option tango.png
Let's go find your missing gatherers.
Talk more option tango.png
Tell me about yourself. (same as "What about you? What's your story?")
Talk end option tango.png
No need. Let's go find your missing gatherers.

Talking to Anxious Quaggan Mother

Anxious Quaggan Mother: Quaggan saw you talking to Varanos Narrijoo. Thank you for helping quaggans. These eggs are Falooaloo's future. Quaggans must protect them!
Talk more option tango.png
We will. But what's your story?
Anxious Quaggan Mother: Quaggan is Seeloo, Shashoo's sister. Quaggan's eggs are right over there. Quaggan wants so badly for them to survive, to build a better life for them.
Talk end option tango.png
We all want that.
Talk end option tango.png
You can rely on us.

Talking with Shashoo (cinematic)

Shashoo: Hoo. The gathering grounds are just up the mountain. Quaggan apologizes in advance for being so slow on land, but it won't take too long.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) We'll march with you for as long as it takes. But I do wonder why your people gather so far from the lake?
Magister Sieran: (Priory) We're with you for as long as it takes. But why do you have to gather so far from your home?
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) We'll get you there. But tell me, why do your gatherers roam so far from the lake?
Shashoo: Bad ice. Quaggans fled south to escape it, but the bad ice followed. Now, it's making the lake too cold and too sick to support fish... or quaggans.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) Your "bad ice" probably comes from Jormag, the ice dragon—who forced my people to flee, too. Eventually, we found a new home. Can't you do the same?
Magister Sieran: (Priory) What you call "bad ice", we call ice dragon corruption. You were right to flee from it. You will have to migrate again, won't you?
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Bad ice, eh? I'd call it ice dragon corruption. Any chance you could move again, find someplace truly safe?
Shashoo: Not until quaggans' eggs hatch. They can't be moved and must be tended carefully, or this generation of quaggans will be quaggans' last.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) Tough break, but we're here to help. First, we find the missing gatherers, then we'll look into your "bad ice."
Magister Sieran: (Priory) You have my sympathy—that's a bad situation to be in. Let's find the missing gatherers, and then we'll tackle the bad ice.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Can't go, can't stay; that's a tough position to be in. We'll deal with your bad ice problem shortly, but for now, let's find these missing gatherers.

After the cinematic

Shashoo: Oho! Look there, look! Did you see? It moves fast. Follow!

Speaking to Shashoo

Shashoo: Quaggan can't run very fast, but quaggan knows a spell that will help. Here! Have some!
Talk end option tango.png
Thanks!

Speaking to your mentor

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) Get in step. That thing is the key to this whole mystery. After it!
Talk end option tango.png
I'm on the move.
Magister Sieran: (Priory) This may be the first-ever quaggan footrace, and we're a part of it. I love this job!
Talk end option tango.png
If you want to finish this race, keep running.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Move it!I don't want to be the first field agents to lose a foot race with a quaggan!
Talk end option tango.png
I'm going, I'm going!

While pursuing the mysterious figure

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) Stop running! We're here to help...and we're definitely going to catch you!
Magister Sieran: (Priory) Wait! Don't be afraid. We only want to help.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Ooh, he's a slippery cuss, isn't he? Don't worry, we'll get him.
Shashoo: Bad ice! It blocks the way. OooOOOooo... quaggan must be brave.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) The winds are too strong. Wait by the stones until the gale passes, then move!
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) I definitely saw ice dragon corruption. Look sharp: this could be a trap.
Magister Sieran: (Priory) We have to avoid that wind. Stick to the rocks until it dies down, then go!
Magister Sieran: (Priory) Come back here! I love a good chasing game, but we've got work to do.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Now that's a fierce wind! Better stay close to the walls until it dies down.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) There he goes again. Ho does he move so fast on those flipper feet?

Fighting the corrupted monsters

Shashoo: Oo! Look out! The bad ice makes monsters.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) There's a norn under all that corrupted ice. This just got personal. Let's go!
Magister Sieran: (Priory) It's okay. We unmake monsters. Come on!
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) Looks like we found missing gatherers. Put them out of their misery!
Shashoo: Boo! Ambush! Enemies sneak up from behind quaggan!

After defeating all the corrupted monsters (cinematic)

<Character name>: This is serious, Shashoo. That corrupted quaggan will make more bad ice and bring more of Jormag's minions down on your village. You have to evacuate.
Shashoo: Boooo! Quaggans can't leave until the eggs hatch. We need to talk to Pastkeeper Oldoo. He knows many powerful defensive spells.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: (Vigil) That's a start. Defense is good, but offense is better. Can your people fight?
Magister Sieran: (Priory) That's a start. Defense is great, but we have to consider preparing a solid offense, too. Can your people fight?
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: (Whispers) That's a start. A strong defense is good but a strong offense might be better. Can your people fight?
Shashoo: In battle, quaggans lose control. Quaggans don't like to fight—except Baroosh. He prefers it. It embarrasses the village, so he lives alone. If he came back, he might make a difference.
<Mentor>: What do you think, partner? Should we bolster the village's defenses, or recruit their best—and only—fighter to stand with us?

Talking to your mentor before deciding the next step

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: I know which option I'd choose, but you're the one who likes quaggans. What's more important: the pastkeeper's magical protection, or the fighter's combat skills?
Talk more option tango.png
I'd like to hear your input before I decide.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: At first glance, the defensive ward makes more sense. Quaggans don't fight, as a rule, so why waste time beefing up an offense that's meager to begin with?
Talk more option tango.png
You don't sound convinced.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: I'm not. Most quaggans don't fight, but this Baroosh does. He sounds like someone we could work with. Plus, I'm eager to see a quaggan in combat.
Talk end option tango.png
Give me a minute to think this over.
Talk end option tango.png
I need a moment to think it over.
Magister Sieran: What do you think? Which of Shashoo's tribe is more essential to Falooaloo's defence: the wise Oldoo or the fearsome Baroosh?
Talk more option tango.png
I'm interested in your opinion first.
Magister Sieran: Well, as a member of the Priory, I'm keen to work with Pastkeeper Oldoo and learn what he knows. Besides, quaggans aren't known for their collective fighting skills.
Talk more option tango.png
But Shashoo says Baroosh is the exception.
Magister Sieran: True. If we convince him, he could inspire the others to resist. And if enraged quaggans are as imposing as I've read, he alone could make a big difference.
Talk end option tango.png
Good input. Let me think it over.
Talk end option tango.png
I need some time to think it through.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: This is a real Quaggan quandary. On one hand - or flipper as the case may be - we have an ancient, forgotten ritual. on the other, an untested outlaw Quaggan fighter. Which do we want?
Talk more option tango.png
We're partners; what do you think?
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: I'm no soldier anymore, but I used to be. These Quaggan never were. I'd rather help them set up magical defenses than rely on their fighting skills. Easier, and more chance of success.
Talk more option tango.png
But Baroosh is one of those unusual fighting Quaggan.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: And that's something I'd like to see. I knew a Charr who pushed a Quaggan too far and woke up wondering what happened. He went down so fast he never even saw what hit him.
Talk end option tango.png
Good input. Let me think it over.
Talk end option tango.png
I need to mull this over a while longer.

Speaking to Shashoo to make a choice

Shashoo: Falooaloo needs all the help it can get. Which is best: defense or offense? Oldoo's protective ritual, or Baroosh's fighting skills?
Talk quest choice tango.png
Protecting the eggs is our priority. Let's talk to Oldoo.
Shashoo: Coo. Meet quaggan at Theign Kenning and quaggan will introduce you to Pastkeeper Oldoo.
Talk end option tango.png
Excellent.
Talk quest choice tango.png
The icebrood won't be expecting resistance. Let's recruit Baroosh.
Shashoo: Oah. Very well. Baroosh is very strong and very fierce, but he's also...inappropriate. Still, you know best. Meet me at Steelbrachen and quaggan will introduce you.
Talk end option tango.png
Excellent.
Talk end option tango.png
I need to confer with my partner.

Speaking to Shashoo after making the decision

Shashoo: Bad ice ruins everything for quaggans. No matter how far quaggans swim, or how fast, quaggans cannot escape it for long.
Dignity
All of Tyria faces the same threat from the Elder Dragons.
Shashoo: You're right. Foo on dragons! Quaggan will always help each other. If you help quaggans now, quaggans will help you when you need it.
Talk end option tango.png
Glad to hear it. We're all in this together.
Ferocity
Not anymore. We're here to stop the bad ice. Permanently.
Shashoo: Oho! Quaggan likes hearing that confidence in your voice. Maybe someday you'll need help, and quaggan can speak to you with the same conviction.
Talk end option tango.png
I look forward to it.
Talk end option tango.png
That'll change now that we're here.

Speaking to your mentor after making the decision

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: Icebrood here means Jormag's reach extends even furtherthan we feared. I'm just grateful for a chance to confront this incursion head-on.
Dignity
Right. Let's give the skaalds something to sing about.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: I'll sing at the moot we hold over the Elder Dragons' corpses, and not before. Let's get moving.
Talk end option tango.png
I'll be looking forward to that.
Charisma
If any icebrood heard that, they're fleeing right now.
Warmaster Forgal Kernsson: Highly unlikely—but I appreciate you saying so. Now, if you're done buttering me up, we've got a village to defend.
Talk end option tango.png
Agreed. Let's get to it.
Ferocity
Same here. With us on the case, the icebrood don't have a chance.
Careful. Bold is good, overconfident is not. Now let's move out and solve Falooaloo's bad ice problem.
Talk end option tango.png
Will do.
Talk end option tango.png
Just like it says in the Vigil charter. Let's move out.
Magister Sieran: Why would Jormag bother corrupting quaggan? They're pacifists! What's next on the dragons' agenda: Bunnies? Butterflies? Fuzzy kittens?
Dignity
The Elder Dragons corrupt everything. You know that.
Magister Sieran: Of course I do. They're out to get all life on Tyria. I just thought they'd prioritize the warlike races first, claim them for its side so we can't have them on outs.
Talk end option tango.png
That's excatly
[sic]
why we can't let them have the quaggans.
Charisma
I wish you were a dragon. Icebrood butterflies sound pretty.
Magister Sieran: Ha! I know what Gixx would say if I said that: "Don't be so frivolous, you fern-faced fathead!" He'd say it in that unfriendly way of his, of course, as part of the joke.
Talk end option tango.png
Uh...yeah. That's Gixx's humor, all right.
Ferocity
Doesn't matter. If it's corrupted, we kill it.
Magister Sieran: My word. Remind me not to get corrupted around you.
Talk end option tango.png
I'd never let that happen, partner.
Talk end option tango.png
The point is to stop it here. Let's go.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: I know why we want these quaggan on our side but not why the dragons do. Traditionally, you don't want pacifists in your bloodthirsty horde.
Dignity
The Elder Dragons mean to take everything and everyone.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: Sure, but if I were calling the shots, I'd target the really dangerous races first. Ogres, ettins - burn me, even drakes make more sense.
Talk end option tango.png
Dragons make their own kind of sense. Let's get moving.
Charisma
We can't all be both lovers and fighters like you.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: I'll allow that bit of flattery because you're still new to the order. And because I'm not used to it. I think I like flattery. Anyway, let's move out, partner.
Talk end option tango.png
I'm with you.
Ferocity
Well, we're going to turn these pacifists into an army.
Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw: That's the spirit. The Order of Whispers prides itself on avoiding direct confrontation. This will be a true test of our method.
Talk end option tango.png
Let's get started.
Talk end option tango.png
But we do. Let's get started.

My Story[править]

Файл:Bad Ice.jpg

Quaggan have been disappearing from Falooaloo Village, so my partner and I went to investigate. A quaggan named Shashoo and the village elder, Varonos Narrijoo, confirmed that the villagers are vanishing, but the village can't move until their clutch of eggs hatch. This made Falooaloo easy prey for whatever is hunting them, so we set out to find the missing quaggan and solve this mystery.

My partner and I found Falooaloo's missing quaggans, but they had been twisted and corrupted by the Ice Dragon. These icebrood will continue to mass until they have the numbers to overwhelm the village, so we rededicated ourselves to protecting the village and giving the quaggan eggs time to hatch.
